3-D SEISMIC DATA
Northern Leopard Frog
The spotted salamander above is like many that inhabit the forests of the Plateau and the Ridge & Valley of Appalachia. Such animals are dependent on quiet shaded ponds and woodland cover. Intrepid's drilling operations will only disturb less than 2 acres per square mile (640 acres). We will avoid wetlands, streams and ponds; the rookeries of these small and beautiful amphibians. When we are done all but a 50x50 foot area will house production equipment, the rest will be reclaimed by the forest. Our product, natural gas, will have no sulfur component, and will not contribute to acid rain. Natural gas has a very low carbon dioxide to BTU emissions ratio when compared to oil or coal, thus helping to reduce greenhouse gases. The projects that Intrepid has in inventory will produce only dry gas, meaning natural gas with no oil component. Our activities, while having a footprint, will have a very small footprint that will not be lasting. Our approach is to employ the latest advances in 3-D seismic data imaging, so that our operations are conducted with surgical precision. Our product is environmentally clean and safe so that Ambystoma maculatum can travel the woodland floor on rainy nights for a very long time to come.
